Bob Faust’s Ways and Means Art Installation

October 22 – November 4, 2026. Daily, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Illinois Governor’s Mansion Lawn, 410 East Jackson Street, Springfield, IL 62701. Viewable from outside the mansion gates. Ways and Means is a participatory public art initiative by Chicago-based artist Bob Faust that uses the American flag as a platform for reflection, dialogue, and civic participation. The series features 12 transparent, double-layered flags, each carrying a pair of tenets that express an inclusive American “we.” The project is organized around the “ways” forward and the “means” of reaching them, and its form adapts to each location. On Saturday, October 24, visitors who join the trick-or-treating receive a Ways & Means sticker pack. Learn more at bobfaust.com/ways-and-means. Questions? Call (217) 782-6450.
